Family Jazz with Lauren is a fun, welcoming space for families, friends, solo dancers, and anyone curious about moving, connecting, and learning together. Come as you are and get ready to dance. 💃🏾🎷

Lauren is a storyteller, teacher, dancer, choreographer, educator, and traveler. She is an Assistant Professor of Jazz Dance and Pedagogy at UMass Amherst and Associate Director of Dance. Originally from the SF Bay Area, Just Lauren creates spaces for communal sanctuary and sees these practices as a blueprint for radical reclamation and transcendence.

Dance — Move together, learning foundational jazz technique in a playful and freeing way.

Fun — Explore what Lauren teaches as “serious play” and celebrate the joy of moving together. 🎉
